Diesel conversion

Wasnt sure where to ask this.

I have a 93 150 supercab. 302 small block 5 speed 4x4.

Been wanting to put a 3 cyl or 4 cyl cat engine in instead of a powerstroke.

have you seen or heard of this being successfully done?

Can a 13speed tranny be installed as well?

Looking to convert the old truck into a ford exterior look but with a truckers attitude interior

13 speed is air operated if you didn't know. You would need to add a compressor and an air tank if the engine does not have one.

The easy thing to do is to buy an old school bus with a T444/T444E and a 5 or 6 speed. Many of them will have a Spicer 5spd... This works because the T444E is basically the 7.3L powerstroke. There are differences but you'll be able to fit it. The medium duty trans will fit with little work,

the 3 or 4 cylinder cat diesels are WAY too small for powering a pickup.
the 1.5L 3 cylinder is only 40 HP.
the 4 cylinder 4.4L has a max HP rating of only around 140 HP

Im hoping the cat engine has a chain driven compressor already on it.

My pick up was on a dyno last week and its only putting out 130hp with the 302 small block. I have a 8cyl in my pete pushing 600hp. So im not sure what size will fit in place of the 302 with out making too many frame and body modifications

the problem with this is pretty much any diesel you find is going to weigh at least twice as much as that 302.
so nothing is going to be a drop in without frame and suspension modifications.

my new Kenworth had a 565 HP X15 cummins in it.
it would be 600 HP but they will only give you 565 with the allison automatic trans.
