I'm having a problem replacing the water pump on a 92 Ranger 3.0L. The A/C bracket must be removed in order to get one of the bolts out of the water pump. The problem is finding all the bolts holding the bracket on. I found 4 bolts holding the bracket. I found the fourth using a mirror and a flashlight but the bracket is still held tightly in place. There are two bolts going in through the front left of the bracket. There are two in the rear going in from the side. It is still held on by another bolt but where is it.
I am trying to get a water pump off a 92 Ford Ranger V6 3.0L. The pump has 11 bolts. I got 10 off, but there is one bolt that is
blocked by the idler pulley/Air Cond/Power Steering assembly. It only will come out about a half inch. The water pump is hanging by this one bolt. Do I need to take this idler pulley/Air Cond/Power Steering assembly all off to get the last water pump bolt out?

Yes, there are 5 bolts total. Two in the back of the AC/Power Sterring assembly, one up front and clearly visible above the tensioner pulley, and two bolts at difficult locations. These two locations are inside iron housings directly to the left and right of the tensioner pulley. For the one on the right, I was able to access it by pushing down on the tensioner pulley (as if you were putting a belt on) and using a 13 mm socket with extender bar. For the one on the left, I used a 1/4 inch universal joint socket (13 mm socket) to get it loose (direct-straight in socket access not possible). Take four bolts off, leave the bolt that is clearly visible above the tensioner pulley in place and just loosen it. Then you can lift/rotate the entire assembly up from the right side enough to get water pump bolt #7 (the only one that is blocked) out. No lines need to be disconnected.
I also moved the AC compressor (3 easy bolts) and a bracket on the throttle body to get better access to the bolt that was right of the tensioner pulley (I couldnt get the fan clutch off). But if you can get the fan clutch off, you probably dont need to do this.
