I didn’t have any trouble. I cutoff a bolt and ground a point on one end, then threaded it into the mount. I then put the liner on and pressed it against the sharp bolt to mark the location to drill.
This is what I did at first but needed to remove about two 3 inch sections between the welds you see on the right panel and I trimmed the clip on the ABS panel so it clipped to the door post..
Here is what the small window brackets look like. This is a weld job to install. You will need to cut out liner for mounting boss (where top belt mounting screws in) Here they are installed. They did not all fit. A few new words not suitable for women and children had to be invented. Similar to removing original hinge pin in time and difficulty. Surprised Mid-Fifty would sell something that the fitment is so bad. Just awful. Notice the slice and dice, the finger hole, the beautiful paint job.
BJ, you are talkin 53-56 right? I looked to try and send you pics of my install of the plates, but I bought a new laptop and they're not on here. If you want to look towards the end of my thread and you can see what I did. I cut part of the rear window lip so the plates would fit flat. It's not too bad of a job. Good luck.

Mine wasn’t perfect but all it needed was a bit of bending and grinding.
