Yesterday I got A 1935 Ford Pickup That Has Been Mostly Restored And Apparently Runs And Drives But Its Been Siting In Doors For About 25 Years. I Have Not Tried To Started It Yet. But Was Wondering If Anyone Knew Anything About The Engine Thats In It. I've Never Worked On A Flat Head Before If Anyone Has Any Advice On That To.
Looks to be 37 or later, 24 stud, mabey 59-AB. If its not stuck, pull the plugs anyway, ad a little oil to each cyl, crank it with the plugs out, those 97 carbs are worth lots, so be carful with them. If its full of oil and has fire at the plugs, give it a taste of gas and try it.
It Was My Grandpas And He Had Rebuilt The Whole Engine A Longtime Ago. But He Only Drove It Once And Then Never Finished The Rest, Like Putting The Bed Or Fenders On. The Cab Has A Perfect Paint Job And The Bed And Fenders Already Have Primer.
Nice truck and welcome aboard. As far as the alternator goes, I run one on the 8ba in my '39 p/u and wouldn't go back to a generator. But its your truck. When it comes to parts for the truck my go to parts source is Joe's Antique Auto in Uxbridge, MA. Joe and his staff are knowledgeable, friendly and their prices are fair and shipping is fast and reasonable. Joe's Antique Auto Parts : Ford V-8 1932-1948 There are other good sources as well and I'm sure other's have their go to sources. I don't recommend MAC's Antique Auto Parts but that's up for you to decide. But don't confuse Mac's with Mac Van Pelt. Mac Van Pelt's web site has great technical info about flathead V8's as well as quality parts. .VANPELT SALES LLC - your ford flathead source since 2006 Keep us updated with photos. In case you haven't figured it out yet, we love photos
