Desperate for help with map light stuck on
Alright guys, I'm at my wit's end with this. Been having intermittent problems with my map light just coming on randomly, usually while parked, and ONLY in cold weather. It also makes a chime, like they key is left in. I tried the WD40 trick on all the hinges, and the switch. No help. Then my buddy bought a really nice code reader, and finally pulled a code for driver door ajar. So I replaced the switch. Problem went away for a couple months. Just started again today. Gonna have him pull the codes again tomorrow. Also, when I tap the dash over the instrument cluster, I can get it to stop. So far, that's the only way to get it to stop after it starts, a quick slap on the dash. Desperate for suggestions. New instrument cluster?
it's an 05 F250, with a 5.4l, fyi. I have a video of symptoms, but can't post it.
