It would great to see a neat trick section where folks could post some of their knowledge and tricks to save time and money. My trick of the day is using the cable scope I bought for the house to look at my cylinders.
That would be okay but probably better having such things in the appropriate sub-forum. Placing something here might have it being pushed further and further into the list, eventually just fading away.
OR it could go in the Garage & Workshop sub-forum?
it is kinda sorta in line for general automotive. although i agree it is most likely better suited for the garage and workshop..
i use a usb endoscope plugged into the laptop as a bore scope to see in tight spaces too.
a single wrap of electrical tape on the head of a nut is usually just enough to hold it into the socket so it will not fall out when trying to get it into a tight spot.
WD-40 is used for just about everything. from insect and rodent repellant, to paint scuff mark remover on the cars/trucks, lock antifreeze, lexan or plastic lens polish, and snow plow moldboard coating to keep snow from sticking on it.
about the only thing i do not use WD-40 for is penetrating oil.

Absolutely true!
I use PB Blaster for penetrating and Gorilla Tape for crazy holding power in a jiffy.
I did use "duct tape" on a heated duct once, at least 10' from the furnace itself----stunk up the entire house.
FWIW I use Liquid Wrench for lubricating car/truck door locks---it has a small bit of white lithium grease that stays behind--that recommendation comes from a locksmith buddy.
