Hello everyone I am new here just bought a 2006 E350 with the 5.4! Unfortunately is has a coolant leak on the intake manifold and I am looking to replace it.
My question is, Is there any difference in the manifold from 2000-2004 and the one used on a 2006? It seems I got the Ford manifold with part number 2L1Z-9424-AA instead of 5L1Z-9424-A.
I am under the impression that there is no difference in the engines so will it work? Thanks in advance!!

The 5.4's are NOT all the same for several reasons---I'd call the dealership with the last eight digits of your VIN and obtain the specified or superseded part number for your E-Series. I went though this when wanted a new intake for my 2005 Ford reman'd 5.4---there were several different part numbers all of which did supersede to the one eventually delivered and installed.
You may also find buying from Ford gives at least the same price as the on-line site plus you receive Ford's 2 year parts warranty.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately according to Ford I have the wrong part, The only reason I am asking is because the aftermarket intake manifolds say they fit 2000-20014. If this is true, why does ford list a separate part number that is much more expensive for the later years? How does the Doorman manifold fit all the years? The engine is the same 5.4 2v and same power output from 1999 to 2014.
Do as you like----this isn't my vehicle so its of no concern to me. Dorman is fairly inferior to Ford's offering, the aftermarket isn't all that reliable a source of information for stock configured vehicles and I have no idea why Ford does as it does. The engines are NOT the same otherwise there would be only one manifold shown or available.
