Well after asking my last question and getting so many answers I was convinced to gat a F350 with the 6.7. I am looking at and for the KR and above package because I am old and like my creature comforts(-;
With that said I know a diesel like to run hot. I will mostly using it as a DD. Some days it will sit others it might make three or four drives less than 15 miles.
For my day job I travel some times I fly sometimes I drive. My first long trip will be to Norfolk VA, about 600 miles, then home another 600 miles.
Now for my question. I have read enough on DEF and how it works to make my head hurt. Should I carry a jug of DEF with me, buy it at the pump, or top it off before I leave and forget about it? I will not be towing anything on this trip.
I have read people use a lot of it and some don't on a trip. So I am trying to be proactive, and have my poop in a row so I am not one of those guys on the side of the road for something stupid.
No need to carry DEF in a 350. It's got a big tank.
You'll get over 5k miles before you need a fill.
And every Love's, Road Ranger, Mr. Fuel, and Flying J have DEF at the pumps.
