So, I've got a 1995 F250 with a very tired 7.3 in it. However, I've built a very capable (to me) replacement 7.3 in my shop. It's almost finish, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to remove the old motor and install the new one. I'm a one man show, so I was thinking about buying a Gantry crane and lifting the cab and bed off. That would give me an opportunity to easily POR the frame, drain, clean, and refill gas tanks, and anything else that needs done.
I just wanted to get some thoughts and ideas before I went down this road. Thank y'all in advance. I mean that sincerely!!
A gantry crane would be nice, but to lift the cab and such high enough might be a challenge. Depends on the crane height.
The radiator support is what really gets in the way. Ive seen folks do all kinds of things to make it removable or have a piece come off to and the engine swap.
