Hello all,
What is the best 5th wheel hitch to pick up? I'm looking at pulling a Grand Design 278BH 5th wheel which will be pulled by my F350 with the 5th wheel prep package if it matters. There are so many options but I remember reading somewhere there was a common one amongst the people here that was preferred.
Thanks!
Andersen Ultimate Fifth Wheel hitch is what I use to tow our Grand Design 230RL...they are rated up to 20,000 lbs and weigh less than 40 lbs. I highly recommend them if your weight is within the limit.

Another for the Goosebox. 5lb ball to lift out of bed. Air ride. The only downside...........if the ball is smarter than the driver he might have trouble getting lined up!
That GD model (I think) comes with the Turning Point hitch. Are you planning to use it? I tow a similar 5er with my 2020 6.5' bed and use the B&W companion along with Turning Point. Works great. Small footprint, breaks into two ~75 pound pieces to remove, and with turning point the camper never gets close to the truck. This the one that you want RVK3300.
I pull a GD 28BH, now with my 2nd f350 and the same B&W companion hitch (factory puck system). I’ve got about 18,000 miles towing with the hitch and it has been fantastic. American made and built very well. I highly recommend it. The only downside is it’s a little bit heavy but still very manageable. As mentioned above it’s easy to break down into two pieces if you want.
Most people agree that the B&W for the factory pucks is the best 5th wheel hitch.
if you look on Craigslist and facebook for sale pages you can sometimes find a good deal on a used one
