i recently inherited a 1956 ford f100 v8 272 3 on a tree truck. i was looking to convert it to power steering (i live in new york city so its purely for practical driving purposes as i intend to drive the **** out of her) in the most plug and play way possible at the moment i dont have access to wielding gear and other fab equipment so a complete kit would be ideal. does anyone have any experience with something of the sort. please feel free to attach links to products youve used or if you need anymore information i would be glad to provide whatever i can.
I did the conversion on my truck. Mid Fifty has everything that you will need. However it will take some fab work. They do not sell an after market steering column that I have ever found for 3 on the tree. You will have to shorten it to make it work.
being a 56 already 12vts I would go electric quick easy to install no fabbing pump mounts belts common tools to install then you can dial these in for your needs, I do not think electric is any more money than mechanical units. Just way easier to install....
