I bought a 2000 excusion with the 7.3 a few months ago. And it came with the sct livewire ts+. Should I keep the sct and get a few custom tunes or sell it and get the hydra with custom tunes. Im new to diesels and not sure which is better. Im just looking for a good daily driver tune and towing tune. Thanks
I would stick with the SCT, they have a tried and true system, and tons of diesel shops support them, if your looking for a better heads up display with gauges, there are better options, i use an SCT X4 to tune, and use a 10 inch android head unit as a dash display running torque
Ok so I guess I will stick with the sct and looking into custom tunes. The sct does give me some numbers that seem to be pretty far off. Like oil temp runs about 130 degree. And coolant temp is all over the place. Also I cant find trans temp anywhere on the sct. Im looking into getting a android tablet for the truck, what brands would you suggest? And does the torque app show trans and egt temps. Or would i need to get gauges for that. Thanks
Also get one of these, so you can make 2 of the USB ports on the back of the unit, available on the dash to load flash drives, transfer stuff from your phone, charge your phone, whatever, the unit has 3 USBs, so 1 is left for the OBD adapter.
