So I took a long hiatus from being an excursion owner. I sold Cliffird the big red ex a few years ago (of course the kids named it and I am sure it was not exclusive to my red excursion)
It was an 05 v10, x/modified c codes, 34s, 5 star tuned, sway barred, y piped etc etc etc. Nice vehicle, towed ok, issue with towing were I am positive trailer related, hated that passport.
A crew cab f350 fifth wheel setup, replaced it, kids grow up and trailer sits, setup gets sol, f150 crew cab max tow ecoboost gets the shop space for a while, loved that truck for all the wrong reasons
I still love the excursions and could not pass up the chance to own another one, 2003 6.0, eddie bauer, stack of receipts for maintenance including upgrades including for oil cooler and egr, she is currently sitting way too high on way too much rubber, 6 inch bds lift with 37s on 12x20 fuel wheels, the new 315/70 17s go to the shop today, New procomp 4 inch lift, set up to pirate specs are sitting in the shop, Ill do before the weekend, positive I can keep the bds parts (pitman, dual stabilizer etc.) I will have to change shocks and sway bar ends. it has a 05 fornt end upgrade, newwer f150 towing mirrors, 05 bumpers front and rear. other upgrades hanging around the shop and i spent three days detailing the inside.
here she is currently, will post new photos after suspension and tires, in the photo you may notice the poor installation of the 2005 front grill etc. That was my first project, all straight now
so this week was a lot of maintenace and suspensions work. The BDS suspension was a nightmare to drive with, so the 22210/22415 swap went on as well as new tires that were not obnoxiously loud and way too wide.
the brake pads were shot, sad thing the PO just had major brake work done in October?Slide pins were seized.
ball joints were still functioning, but??? well they needed replaced:
So new springs, ball joints, brakes(front and rear pads), the BDS steering joints and dampeners, shocks, only have 16K miles on them so they can stay for now. new hub bearings Cleaned em up greased everything. sill had a few things to reinstall in this photo...
Got The Yeti out of th shop and back on all four tires, hopefully this week i can detail the underside and get the new stereo installed. Blue spring swap and some other items on the list of things to do...
In this photo the 22210/22415 spring swap was sitiing at 28.25 in the front and 28.5 in the rear. more than i expected, she settled out a little after about 60 miles it setlled about .5 inches front and rear, hoping for a little more settling.
If I read that correctly, you are reusing the 6" lift shocks. If so, be careful as they may be able to bottom out hard now with the 4" lift springs, you don't want them to be your travel limiters.
No you misread that completely
the ex came with a 6 inch bds lift all spring no blocks other than the factory bump stop block
it is now just on the 22210/22415 springs no blocks at all. I will be adding a bump stop top plate so i can run air bags in the near future

So what about the shocks? Did you swap in correct length new shocks for the now 4" lift? Don't worry, this isn't the first time that I've been confused.
The 22210/22415 swap actually sits about an inch shorter that the 6 inch bds that was on the rig. I see no reason to change the bds kit shocks at this time, they only have 16k miles on them, they are fox shocks
