I just purchased a rugged liner e-series hard folding tonneau cover for my not yet delivered long bed. My previous truck, a 2006 tundra, I had a leer fiberglass tonneau which was a PITA to remove. Last year I had purchased a rugged liner for it and it made life so much better. I like the fact that it is easily removed and no hardware needs to be left on the truck. Between the rugged liner and the solid fold, I don't see much of a difference to justify the increased cost of the solid fold.
Just installed my DiamondBack. This is the second one I have owned. (Got the HD this time) Great covers, extremely heavy duty and very versatile. Also got the Thule rack system for it that recently became available.
I have an Extang solid fold 2.0. I wanted something that didn’t have rails and could be left on when I’m hooked to the 5th wheel. I can leave my B&W hitch in place and close the cover to secure everything and in less than 30 seconds be open and ready to hitch up.

Can you access your toolbox when hooked up?
Been a little disappointed with truxedo's customer service so I'm gonna do something different but have no idea as to what yet.....

Its actually my titan transfer tank up front. When I fill it i loosen the clamps on the cover and slide it back to access the fill port. I was looking at the solid covers that open from both ends but they all required rails inside the bed rails. Once I'm full with the the main tank and transfer tank I have 106 gallons of fuel on board so I never need to fuel when hooked up. I have a controller in the cab that allows me to fill the primary tank in motion so I generally top both tanks and I'm good until I reach my destination.
I have a Diamondback and love it, although I'm not sure it falls into the 'folding' category. Previous truck, I had a BakFlip VP that I really liked as well. It's the same BakFlip design but with a vinyl top so it looks a little more finished off in my opinion. If I were to go back to something like that, I'd be between a BakFlip VP again or the Revolver, which is a hard rolling tonneau.
I went with a Lomax. It folds in three and the fifth wheel is no issue. If I want to put a quad in my bed then fold it forward, pull a release and lift it out. I had made a fold in half tonneau cover when I was in my twenties for my ford ranger and loved it. This is the closest thing I have found to that. Would buy again. I can get pictures later if you are interested.
Truxedo Deuce on mine with their tool box. Has been great so far. Easy to get in and out of the tool box. AM having great luck with everything staying dry too.
Are there any hard covers out there that are four sections for a 8 ft bed? Looking for a folding cover that I can fold up and leave in place when I’m using my gooseneck. Looked at JE942010 and the Extang 2.0 sits a little high but that may be the only option. Had an extang Tri Fold on my 2013 and it was quite heavy to take off and on. Thanks
I think all of the Bak Flip models are. I have a Bakflip G2 and it’s 4 sections on my 6.5 ft F150. The 5.5ft are 3 sections. Im leaning towards getting the MX4 on my new 8ft F350.
My G2 has been great, I bought it used 6 years ago(I think it’s about 10 years old now). The panels are waterlogged now so it weighs a ton to flip open but still works. I’ve been a little less cautious with it over the past few years and the wear shows. I’ve thought about other brands, and the Bak Revolver, but they all seem to have their own issues. It still keeps the bed mostly dry.
