Looking for a USB expander
Hi,
I never seem to have enough USB ports. The expander that I'm using now occasionally fails -- especially when I come out of standby. Sometimes I can just unplug and replug. Sometimes I have to reboot.
It's a simple 4 port powered expander -- and it's from Anker which is supposed to be a good brand.
Anybody have any expanders that have been reliable. I've had several fail fairly quickly in recent years.

Oh. You meant the other kind of expander...
I've never had a problem with one, and I connect quite a bit of stuff via USB. Do you know if any of the devices that you attach have a high power demand or are always on (never on standby or in sleep mode)?
And what about the base computer? Brand and model, and what you might know about the USB ports. If they're older style ports the extender might be taxing them to the limit.

I have an Anker wireless charger that just failed. 2 years old. Can't find much good these days but as cheap as they are, easily replaced. As far as USB expander, there's quite a few on Amazon but I have no experience with them.
