64 Grille differences

is this the correct grille for a 1964 F100 OR ...is the one beside this picture correct...why the difference? Thank you

Both are '64. The brite grill has the supports blacked out on it.

White grill was on std cab pickups and was steel. Bright grill was on Custom Cabs and was Aluminum. I don't know if the cross bars on the steel grill were originally blacked out though. I think it would have looked better blacked out though

I believe the steel grills were also blacked out. Here's the best picture of my grill when I bought the truck and everything was original paint except the front passenger fender.

Makes sense to black it out just like they did the bright one. When di you buy that truck. It came out of Roundup Montana, Musselshell county.

You have a good memory. I found it on Billings MT Craigslist in July of 2017. I have family there so I had my brother-in-law take a ride up to verify that it was in as good of shape as the pictures showed. I had been looking for an original paint truck with minimal rust for a couple of years. He said it looked good so I had him pay the guy and he towed it back to Billings. A couple of months later they were coming to Indiana for a visit and they towed it here.

Below is how it looks after about 19 months of work and $7000. I still have some things to do but I'm having to much fun driving it. Apologies for hi-jacking the thread. ~Pat
