I haven't done it. If the paint is in good shape, you need to clean the cladding very thoroughly. Then sand with 400 grit,clean, use degreaser and wax remover, then paint with base coat of your choice. As many coats as needed, probably 3-5, then apply 2-3 coats of clear within the window of adhesion of the base coat. Once your past that window, you have to scuff the base coat so the clear will stick. Ask the paint supplier for the technical data sheets, they have the information you need. Some places can put catalyzed auto paint into spray cans. You need to take them home and paint immediately, before it cures in the can. The time you have available is referred to as pot life.
FYI- you will need a high build primer that is specific for plastics to achieve bonding....most auto paint suppliers have this is spray can form as well...typically about $25 each.
