I have a 2005 F250 SD ext cab 4x4 with the 5.4 liter. I currently have 265/70R17 tires, I'm wanting to put a little bit taller tire on. How much bigger can I go without a lift? Shop in town wants $600 for a 1.5" leveling kit on the front to fit 33/12.50R17s. Trying to decide which way to go
285s will clear. You can usually go up 2 tire sizes without lifting anything. I had 305s on my 99 but they were just about there. I later went to a 285 then back to stock 265s
I have 285/70/17's on my similar 2007. That is basically a 33 x 11.
I don't think I could go any bigger without having issues.
Either way you go I suggest reprogramming the speedometer. When you (or anyone else) does it I suggest using revs per mile as this is the most accurate. You can get this data on tirerack.com.
