It doesn't take long to install the AMP Bedstep 2's. You can assemble most of the step ahead of time, then bolt it to the truck. It is mostly bolt-on, but one hole needs to be drilled in a plate for a bracket. It's not a difficult drill task.
I too found the Bedstep 2's flex a bit...from side-to-side. I weigh 220lbs. The instructions show attaching the step pad in an offset fashion. You can also attach the pad centered, which is what I did because it flexed too much while offset.
Despite the flexing, I'm still glad I have them.
Thanks! I still haven't gotten around to installing them. Good to know that I need to have the drill battery charged up when I do!
@MrMajestyk - Are those the Bedstep 2 steps? I have a pair waiting to go on the truck (maybe this weekend, though I'm a bit pressed for time and I don't want to get into an extended project this weekend). Are they just bolt-on (no drilling)?
They install very easy... only one hole to drill... it was super easy... took less than 30 minutes and I am slow
FYI for those installing the bedstep2, on my 2021, the hole that they said to drill was already there. No drill required, bolted right up. Not sure when they started adding this.
I bought one off Amazon and it installed on my f350 super easy... had to drill one hole.... another poster says the 2021 has the second hole already there. it retracts easy and can be pulled out with my foot..
