I just put your truck on my desktop.

I did have a picture of another SD doing a smokey burnout.

Now yours is what I look at.

_____

In reference to the Silverstars, I was all excited about putting them in my truck last nite just to find out that some %$#%@$# put his stock lights back into the package and returned them to Wal-Mart. Frickin' thief!!!

Nice to see the difference! I cannot wait. The stock bulb in my 03 Expy are only 51 Watts. Good pic!

LOL, sorry Ken, but that is TOO funny!!

I wish the camera had been closer (or at least zoomed in) on the twilight burnout pic. It's so cool seeing two thick pillars of smoke rising almost straight up!!

Munkey, where did you get those Silver Stars from? Do they have a website? Thanks.

Silverstars are sold at Wal-Mart. I paid a hair over $40 for the pair.

Just make sure the package hasn't been opened.

Any probs with silverstars melting any thing. I need some better lights but am afraid of melting wiring, lamp housing and blowing fuses/circuits.

Nah...

They don't necessarily run hotter.

Mikewrt,

SilverStars are 65 watts high beams, 55 low. I think the stockers are the same right?? I haven't had any problems in the last 4 months i've had them.

Are they a higher performance bulb. I need more forward looking light when I can't use the high beams, ie when there is on comming traffic, as the stock low beams on these trucks suck out in the dark desert.

The SilverStars are MUCH better than the stockers for low-beam lights. I do a lot of night beach driving...'bout as close as you can get to being in a desert, and I've only had to use my high-beams twice. Once when some jerk had all 8 of his KC's on, and another to signal UFO's (j/k). In traffic I'm always getting flashed by other cars, them thinking I've got my highs on. I love the way their whole car lights up when I give them a little flash back!

BTW, check out Osram-Sylvaina's website on the SilverStars.

They were $45 plus tax at Wal-mart...the model number (found on the upper right hand side of the SilverStar box) is 9007 ST/2. I think they are the best & cheapest mod I've done to my truck!! Just be careful when putting them in..I had to contort my hand to get them in without breaking them, it's cause i've got gorilla hands.

I just wish Sylvania made a SilverStar replacement for the fog light bulbs. Truck looks like it's got cheap set of $5 fog lights when the SilverStars are on!

It seems that great minds think alike becuase I was just about to ask you about the fogs. Does anyone know of any manufacturer that makes better bulbs for the fogs?
