I'd like to see other peoples work shops..here's what I've got today and a quick look at some of my trucks over the last 10 or 15 years:

What is this “shop” you refer to? I have a driveway, a backyard and a shade tree.

Hey man good on you I grew up in a family who built fancy new homes every 5 or 6 years and it was
"car ports" ...all the way..I woulda killed for a garage as a kid..

Nothing wrong with a "shade tree set up" sometimes you "gotta run what ya brung"...

Mostly one doesn't start out with a shop..but its nice once it finally happens.

Its a real treat to get out of the weather and have a concrete floor too.

My Shop ....... It's a 25' x 60' garage condo with dual mezzanine. I have a 2nd 25'x60' garage condo unfinished for just vehicle / trailer storage

Main Shop Space (also has bathroom, air compressor room, sealed room for body work, storage w/ washer & dryer):

Sealed Room for Body Work / Paint Prep / Paint (Can pop out Window and put in a vent fan)

Old pic but Upstair Mezzanine (The door to the left is a 10x12 wood shop) w/ kitchenette

Built a 2nd mezzanine a few years back for additional floor space for parts cleaning, engine / tranny rebuilds, fab work, etc.

When the kids were younger (~10 years ago), it worked out great to be in the shop and they had a nice space to hang out with each others or friends. Gave mom a break at home. They weren't interested in vehicles too much when they were little (except my daughter, she is 6 in the pic below), but they loved being at the shop with Dad. Now that they are much older they are all coming into their own on liking / working on vehicles.

My daughter is the opposite, now that she is 16 she had discovered boys and has no interest in Dad or vehicles.

Guys,
This shop thing. I have been working out of 1/2 of a 2 car garage for 35 years. Did a lot of projects. Last spring we decided I needed a shop. Began the process and currently have it dried in. Much work to do inside to be a functional place to work.
Started as this somewhat open spot in the front yard in the middle of the U shaped drive way:

About mid summer it looked like this:

My toys scattered throughout the shop. Not organized at all. Doing rough wiring and insulation this month.

Jafo56,
South west of Erie. Thanks on the shop. Was able to roll around on a creeper under the old 2015 tonight. Nice to have a good smooth floor! Yes 53 Jubilee. Its nice. Mine does most of the work and lawn mowing and snow plowing too.
Regards,
Chris
