I recently got a 79 f-150 and I am looking to replace the carb on it. I just want to ask around and see what everyone is running on theirs because I have no idea what I should get. I'm thinking holley and I'm only planning on doing this once so I want to get a good one off the bat.
I have a 351M in the truck
I would counsel you to hold off on replacing a carburetor, unless and until to be proven defective in some way that isn't repairable.
Since you've just recently came into ownership there are going to be quite a number of other maintenance checks and services to be performed before getting to that point.
It is important to proceed in a logical order sequence for a Tune-Up, and the carburetor is in many ways the very last thing to worry about. Very common mistake. Ask me how I know.
