Is it bad when I.....

use the OD on/off button on the end of my shifter to kick down the gearing of my E4OD? I am trying to get the best mileage possibly lately, and it seems to make more sense to me to just push the button when I hit a hill, instead of putting the pedal to the floor (and dumping all that gas into the motor) to have it kick itself down. It is a fully electronic transmission, so I see no real harm that it could be doing....but I dont know for sure. Thanks for any help.

You are helping extend the life of the tranny by doing that. Taking the load off of the OD portion of the trans before you hit a steep hill is a good thing.
