6.7 disaster

Every once in a while I get the itch for a new quiet 6.7 then something happens that reminds me how much I appreciate my very early 99,
a co-worker showed me a pic of his uncle's 2018 6.7 that did just that.

.

I asked that also he said,
" I was driving and low fuel pressure light came on truck lost power pulled over started smoking "
I have no idea what the actual cause was.

Not the first time I’ve heard of a 2017+ burning to the ground.

You forgot that it rolled coal great the last time you had it running! Glass and most interior parts have been removed to save weight. It was an experimental "top secret" truck Ford made with true camo hood/front fenders/roof and doors made for the military.

You mean this one? A "M-i-l-i-t-a-r-y Grade" aluminum F-150 cabin with a 2016 Super Duty grille and bumper on a 2017 Super Duty frame and drivetrain in camo?

That was a hot truck.

One had better run fast and far when these alumiduties burn... because they don't just burn... they explode!

Your uncle had a lot more salvage value out of his 2018 than this "top secret" prototype test vehicle...

And now, contrast the melt down above with what remains of an all steel bodied burn below...

Of course anyone can find fault with this comparison, but the goal here isn't fire marshal forensics... the goal is to keep that $90,000 quiet new 6.7 10 speed Super Duty budget bolted down in the bank account, invested in bonds and stocks, not bonfires and entire new CP4.2 fuel systems.

And these pics do that for me... like hydrocortisone reduces itching.

Maybe next time I will not fall short on the description of the "UNIQUE & ONE OF A KIND" truck. Thanks for the tip and great advice.
