Disabling Clearance Lights

Is there an easy way to turn off the roof clearance lights? Not permanently remove them, but turn them off independently of all the other lights?

I have not seen this option anywhere. I do know that in the older Super Duty truck there was a plug in the pass side kick panel that the light harness plugged into. You might be able to unplug the lights there, not sure if that will do what you need?

I haven't had one of this body style truck apart like I did for a 2014 and 2016, but you may find something above the headliner above the windshield or in the driver side A pillar.
If it really, really bugged a guy that much I suppose you could snip and terminate the wires above the headliner. But I've not seen a way via FORScan or elsewhere to disable just the cab markers.

Easy way is likely going to be to find the harness and install a switch.
As a side note, if this is a dually, they are required on any truck over XX inches wide (Federal DOT standard). I don’t remember just what the number of inches it is. Your monkeys and your circus...........just throwing that out there for your information. do with it what you want.

its 80". thats why the raptor requires them but a SRW super duty doesnt. the raptor is something like 86" wide while a non dually super duty is 79.9

That's the route I was hoping for. I bought a truck off the lot with them, and ordered one without them. I just want to disable them for a while, until the new truck arrives. It's no big deal if I can't.

It's a 2020 King Ranch with LED head and tail lamps, so I presume the roof lights are, too.

Sorry not really helpful, but curious why would you want to turn them off? What harm are they causing? Seems like alot of work just to turn off some lights that don't effect anything other then adding some light to the roof where you don't see it driving..Could be as simple as preference, but 'm just curious if there is more to it.

You're right, it seems like a lot of work, so I'm going to ignore them for another couple months.

It's just a preference thing. They're not needed for my application, and when I walk up to my truck and see them on, I think, 'I can't believe I spent that much money on something that lights up like a garbage truck'. Different strokes, and all that.

Fair enough, thanks for humoring my curiosity.

Hah! To each his own, but I needed the laugh today, super funny comment, but I agree, different strokes and all.

I think the same thing when I see trucks with lights installed all over too. Little excessive sometimes.

Don’t ya wanna look like this?
Rodeo cowboy always wore tennis shoes. One time, when he finished his ride, the announcer got on the PA and asked him why. The audience wants to know.
He looked up at the announcer and replied..........”I don’t want anybody to think I am a dumb truck driver!”
