Our trucks might be old but they still have a computer system that throws error codes. If you have a pre-1996 truck you have an OBD1 computer/ecu.

Here’s a great video on how to use a code reader to find any error codes in your OBD1 computer.

Plug it in. Follow directions in the owners manual.

 

+1 on that. I guess this would be needed if you had the reader purchased used but no manual. However, the reader is sold with the manual new.

 

Subscribed or getting money from it? All you seem to post are “How to” threads with YouTube videos.

 

I know plenty of people who have a hard time reading AND comprehending. For those folks a helpful video is welcome. Keep them coming!
