It has been said that these are available used by the millions as all the piggy-back service trailers use them.
I'll see if I can find that discussion.
Thanks I appreciate any leads on used ones. I just heard back from a 3rd commercial wheel supplier that also said the 22.5” x 7.5” demountable wheels are no longer available. Closest anyone has new are 22.5” x 8.5”.
Thanks for the links for a few other locations to check for these wheels. Looks like me and my truck arrived a little late to the “22.5” x 7.5” Dayton wheels are cheap and easy to find” party that happened a few years ago.
Atleast I don’t have widow makers so if I decide to just get new 9.00 x 20 tires I can still do that without any problem.
I am told that the 8.5”s likely won’t work on mine as the gap between the rear wheels would be insufficient and simply changing the width of the spacer wouldn’t help.
That said, I was able to locate and get my hands on a set of 22.5” x 7.5” Dayton open center wheels yesterday just as I was about to give up and quit looking. I found them at a truck recycler salvage yard on a tip from a guy at a truck and agricultural tire shop. I probably looked like someone who just won the lottery. I felt like it anyway.
Dayton Rim Conversion 9.00 - 20 to 10R 22.5 Complete
Quick update on the conversion. Many thanks to guys on this forum for helping me through the process. Especially Truckdog62563.
I actually found new re-treads at Southern Tire Mart for $135 each for the rears. New tires were going to be $375 a each so that was a big savings. Had to put new ones on the fronts and those ran $375 each. Bridgestone retreads
The floor shifter boot for N600's is long obsolete. Here's what I came up with and it works great in case it can help anyone else.
Just turn it upside down and stretch to fit.
I thought someone else might be looking for a solution. It was about to closest available (dimension-wise) that I could find and it worked for me. Good luck!
New brakes are going on the rear of my truck. Here are the current part numbers I used and sources for future reference if anyone needs them and has the same axel as I do.
Brake Shoes: (6" x15") Napa Part # FLTFT 380R
Brake Wheel Cylinders: Napa Part # UP24489
Inner Axel Seal: National Oil Seal Part # 6270 (I got mine from O'Reilly's - Part# PSO 6270)
Outer Axel Seal: National Oil Seal OR SKF Part #NOS 25160 from NAPA
I haven’t pulled mine yet but what’s throwing me off when comparing the one you sent and mine are these ports. I don’t see those on the ones on I’ve found.
