I just googled it, and 2014 didnt stop production until December so you got a last month production F150 for 2014 and it should have the improved 5.0 engine in it. Very sad it was used and abused before you got it.

I had a similar problem with my 2014 5.0 would usually set a code on cold start in the morning. After running for 2-3 mins it would idle perfectly. Codes were either miss fire on #4 or random misfires. Changed the plugs, coil checked the injector... etc. one thing I did notice was my fuel trim was high. Compression cold was 78 psi and compression hot was 122 psi. Did a leak down sure enough bad intake valve. I continued to drive it this way for a few months. Then decided to pull the head for inspection. Intake was pounded bad on #4. Took both heads to an engine builder to have them rebuilt. The cost of rebuilding with 3 angle cut was 850.00 Canadian. The truck is back to running super smooth. But.....i thought 2014 was cured of poor-quality intake valves.???
I realize this is an old subject. But, any idea on why the compression would rise after warming up? Or just an explanation for a non mechanic. Thanks.
There is a comment here from someone with a truck build date of 12/14 and soft valve problems. Seems Ford identified the problem in 13 but realistically did nothing about it
The compression will rise as the engine temp rises because all the parts are expanding with heat and sealing better. Usually if compression is rising with heat it can be more of an issue with the cylinder/piston and less so the valves. Everything will seal better when hot but the cylinder more so than the valves.
