Usually the pins are worn bad enough that it takes a fair amount of work to get them out. Also you may find some of the access holes in the frame off center. I ended up making an "S"-shaped drift from drill rod stock.
I changed my pins/bushings when I had the box off. It was memorable and I wouldn't try it again without taking the box off the chassis. Your mileage may vary.....
I think it was Stu that posted about making a tool for the pins. I followed it and it worked great. 1/2 grade 5 bolt ground down and threads cut to catch the grease zerk. Used a variety of washers to pull the pins.
I got all the leafs replaced. Thank you guys that offered tips. Now I need to choose shocks. I installed Posies super slide leafs. I'm after a good ride, so want to get correct shocks. Like to find middle of road shocks. Not cheap $20 ones but not $100 ones either. Any suggestions. Thanks
