Yes it will learn your driving style, the downside is Ford also programmed it to learn all driving. So if you reset it and hit the road in traffic it will learn and adjust shift points or if you go tow haul and do a lot of grade braking it will learn that. I find the learning absolutely annoying and have since Ford got heavy with the learning over 10 years ago. The stock baseline is smooth and consistent. I just want it to stay on the baseline programming, I don't need it to think or learn. I like predictable drive quality and performance.
It's almost like it wants to learn your driving style to get you to over drive as soon as possible, not learning how to stay in the best possible rpm range.
This brings up a question, I have seen learn procedures for various vehicles involving a certain amount of throttle at a certain speed, then stopping and repeating at a different speed and on and on. Is there any such suggested for these trucks?
Also, do you reset the module too?
I only reset the module if there is a shifting fault that will not clear with clearing adaptive learning.
First and foremost disconnecting the battery does absolutely nothing. These trucks all use modules with non volatile memory. It's takes 30 seconds to reset with Forscan Lite. So if you don't want the 15.00 investment then go to the dealership and I will bet you will be time and money ahead going with forscan.
It doesn't really concern me but I'm curious. I didn't think you could do anything but monitor in Lite.
Hopefully in the next version of lite there will be more capabilities. I know they are working on being able to complete plain English changes to modules.
You can carry out the following service procedures in lite.
I don't have Lite on any of my devices but maybe I'll grab it just to have. I've used regular FORScan several times but had always heard that Lite was pretty much just for monitoring.
Very easy, its under service procedures. Select reset adaptive transmission and click play. It takes a few seconds and it's done.
I've tried to reset my 10r140 several times now using
forscan exactly the way everyone does it on YouTube and it has not worked. If anything it made it worse.

You might have a bigger problem, one that simply resetting adaptive learning and going through the learning process won't fix.
