I have a 99 F350 7.3 diesel 4x4. It has 294,885 miles. Batteries are brand new. Replaced all battery cables. All of a sudden, it dies. When I turn on key, nothing, doesn’t turn or no lights on instrument panel. I have to jump it. When I put jumper cables on, it sparks but after 30 minutes of jump, it starts. Then it works fine for awhile and it dies again.
Ive found that the weather causes alot of issues. You may want to look into using a dielectric grease around battery terminals and grounding areas then you know its not that but it slows down the corrasion
Have you tested the alternator? Simply grab your multimeter and test at the alternator with no accessories on in the cab, then again with them all on. Make sure your getting simulator results at the batteries too...if the results are suspect remove it and have a competent auto parts store test it.
Will a 99 F350 7.3 diesel 4x4 run with the batteries disconnected?
Hobo

9 times out of ten this is a loose connection somewhere. Check each battery connection with a voltage drop test. Check your grounds the same way. Then, if all else fails, it could be an alternator issue. You should have 14.0-14.6 VDC at the points Colorado350 mentioned.
