17 Diesel additives and their ratings--pdf
The following was taken from "The Diesel Place"
I decided on opti-lube summer----(4th in the list)
any one know any coupon codes for their web site. ( the web site with the cost of shipping seems to be the lowest)
1/3 sunday NOTE.......bought diesel at BJ's trip down to Georgia about 200 miles ...got about 10 miles per gallon towing a 16,000 lb 5th wheel
but on the trip back bought from "TA-Truck Stop" and got 13.2 miles per gallon....
Conclusion.....IMHO...what ever the Cetane rating is or the additives used..i believe a difference can be made by adding to the fuel

I use the Opti_lube Summer most of the year and XPD during the cold months.
The problem with that Diesel Place rating. It was done in 2007 and who knows what additives have undergone improvements

I seem to be an outlier as well as I’m using Red Line 85+

Always had good results with other Red Line products and this seem to be decent... haven’t seen much mention of it though🤷♂️

it’s same price point as Opti-Lube in the 1 gallon version. I’m running 8oz of it per 45gallon fill-ups so about $4.69 additional per fill. I could run even less down to about $1/fill, but picked a mid point of supposed benefits...

Amazon inflates the prices of opti-lube and then gives free shipping....
I found "DEVINEdiesel" which has the same prices as opti-lube web site with no shipping charge as long as you spend at least $100.
I ordered opti-lube xl one gallon and summer one gallon with the extra bottles in order to make $100
I spent $8 extra to save the shipping and i will use the extra hand pump and 2-empty bottles.

.I reset the MPG setting on the straight-a-ways to get a more accurate reading both going to georgia and back home again.
