I am actually asking around right now......I have yet to find a legal spot to run up here in Petaluma. I would take the 60 pounds of sub's/enclosure out before racing it though, Tom. Not to disappoint. The headers...Im not sold on em yet. I only say that because the install was sucky, and since having shoulder surgery, I havent been able to reinstall. I hear a "flappy" noise on the left side, can see carbon, and a second gasket (Profanity Removed?) Heh. So after I can actually climb underneath the truck and get to a strip, I will post a slip and pics, and give some feedback.
Found a drag strip in Sacramento....But bein the newbie I am...whats the difference between Street Legal Fun Drags , and test and tune? Maybe I can get up there sometime soon...have to convince the GF to make a weekend of it...AND get a pic of her for Tom hehe
Ha ha Garrett.....actually, i'd like to see that!! : )
I also have not come to a solid conclusion on the headers deal. Without more intake, i'm not sure what the open headers would do to my torque output. May actually loose power. I think I'll go with the roller rockers, larger throttle body, shift kit, torque converter, and MSD ignition and wires first before I go headers.
Id love to do ratical cams though. I absolutely love the way they sound as if the car is going to stall any minute. That jumpy, unsmooth, rough idle they have to them...I love that. But too much money to strip all that out I think.
so I think in this order.
High performance drive shaft (or have the current one balanced)
Roller rockers
Throttle body
shift kit
MSD ignition and wires
Torque Converter (very expensive, so it's last)
I also might switch out the auburn lsd. It doesn't grab all that great. Ford makes a lock up upgrade to our current diff at www.wholesalefordparts.com, so I inquired with them last night and am awaiting a response.
The auburn, sometimes it locks up, other times it doesn't. and it lets one tire spin a bit before it actually locks up. I'm going to look around for something better I think.
Sounds like you've got the plan. The only reason I dont want to go that route is...actually I have no idea why not. Haha. Ive always wanted a s/c'ed vehicle. I am workin with Derek as we speak, and arranging a phone meeting so I can get alllll details worked out and give some answers to the actual thread Im going to burn a roll of film and have them put it on CD to make it easier. I found out a little bit about the 1/4 mile track, but they only posted the dates for Oct., none of which I can make. Hopefully I can find out some Nov. info. I will keep ya all updated.
As far as I know, it doesnt, at least not from the company I am going through. But, I am hoping to get a great deal on a Diablo. I knew there would be at least 2 things I had to dump. The intake (duh, hehe) and the chip.
LoL....Thats your opinion....I notice a nice gain from it. I wont diss it until it doesnt work for me. The filter is dirty as all hell though...need a replacement.....Is there a for sale thread?
