I have a 1990 f350 4x4 custom with 460efi dual tanks
Truck has always ran awesome, recent tune up etc. it’s been pretty damn cold so I added a can of red heet to each tank for good measure last fill up.
Yesterday I had a random crank no start situation like not getting fuel. If I flip the tank selector switch back and forth the engine will start, run fine with no power issues and all is well until I park it again.
I think the issue may be the fuel tank selector valve and I’m going to remove that and inspect that.
I guess it could also be a fuel pump going out but it runs just fine.
Anyway If anyone has had a similar issue and could maybe point out something I may be overlooking...just trying to not throw parts at it yet.
I am unsure if the 90's had a selector valve or not. I know it was gone in 91. Should there not be a selector valve the check valve could be sticking on one of the tank pumps, or a pump itself is going bad. The check valve's are on the pressure side of the pump. They keep one tank from speed pumping in to the other tank.
