Hey everybody! I have a 2006 F250 with the beloved 6.0. I’ve had a couple of these before but I’ve never run into this issue. I haven’t had AC for the longest time nor will my 4x4 light come on my dash when using the electronic ****. I haven’t had time to look at it but it’s time to fix it. I found a disconnected vacuum line from my left hub under the truck and also found the right hub’s line was a straight line to the pump with no T-fitting. So I bought a fitting and line and reconnected both hubs hoping to solve both my AC and 4x4 issue and negative. Funny enough, I do actually have air blowing through the vents but it’s only when I’m accelerating. 4x4 is still not working on the dash. I figured it could potentially be a transfer case motor... Anyway, I would love your input. I love fixing my own issues but sometimes that’s not the case. Thanks everyone!
Those issues are not related. The seal on your axle spindle probably has gone bad. Vidya
Ive actually seen that video and it’s very resourceful. All front end parts including brand new hubs and seals were just recently replaced. So now I’m trying to track down the issue beyond the hubs!
The vacuum lines should not go directly from the pump to the hubs, so thats not what you want to be doing. There should be an electrically controlled vacuum switch between the pump and hubs, that's what gets controlled by the dash switch (along with the transfer case shift motor) to activate the hubs with vacuum. Having the hubs plumbed directly to the pump would have them locked in all the time.
