This brings up a question. I installed a Champion in my 60 and of course didn't want to run the 16 lb cap so I used my original type 7 lb. The problem I saw was the Champion filler neck is 1 1/2" deep and the original radiator was less, don't recall the exact dimension, so I don't know how well the cap is actually sealing. I couldn't find any 1 1/2" deep 7 lb caps?
Think I saw you mention this before, so I made sure to check carefully and keep an eye on that. On my 64 the standard Motorcraft 7 lb cap seems to fit perfect in terms of sealing.

It wasn't me so maybe someone else noticed the same problem..
Hm. Great. @hiball3985 so does this mean I will soon be out in the garage (it's fv$&@ing cold!) measuring my radiator cap inlet depth, and discovering something else to worry about? Stay Tuned! Thanks.

OK, crisis averted, at least for the 64 flavored Champion. It looks like about 5/8" depth, same as factory radiator. Wonder why they went off in the weeds for 60?

My memory from last year was wrong. I measured it today and it's 1" deep. When I saw the difference in the 16 lb cap depth and the 7 lb that what started me wondering how well it was sealing on the internal seat. I thought I would take a picture today but can't find the 16 lb cap, must have went in the trash..

Yeah, well the difference is you can probably stroll out there in flip-flops, shorts, and a Led Zeppelin T-shirt. I braved the elements and had to put on a coat and everything.
