Warranty work

Scheduled to get some warranty and recalls almost 2 weeks ago. The girl on the phone says we have loaners don't worry but its first come first serve. Ok no biggie i get up early anyway. I show up 7:15 they are getting my checked in and the check in guy says do you need a ride i said no I'm getting a loaner that's why I'm here early. Turns out those are only for people who bought their truck from them. and that he needs the truck for prolly 3-5 days. I asked if we could just get the truck in and order parts and i can bring it back in well it will take at least 2 days to even look at the truck. Why did i schedule this in advance if its still gonna take a few days still. The service writer says i might be better off taking the truck where i bought it for work. So needless to say I'm a bit perturbed. I own a few businesses with my family so its difficult to be without anything to drive. Heck an old Taurus would work just fine. So i guess i will call the other dealerships in town and see if anyone has a loaner of any kind.

Yea I had a much better experience with the service dept where I bought my truck. You will see people say it doesn't matter they all have to service it but in my experience it makes a massive difference if everyone is booked up around you, which appears to be the case these days. How far away is your purchasing dealer?

500 miles. They had a truck in stock and it was end of year and needed to spend some money so flew down and picked it up.

Sorry to hear. I am one of those who has had great service at my local dealer despite purchasing from one further away. Then again, if I search for Ford dealers within 20 miles of me there are over 10 to chose from, so timely service appointments are almost always available. If your dealer is the only one within a reasonable drive, then I can see why they aren't as accommodating. Still very frustrating..

I made an appointment 2 weeks ago for camera recall. I got a letter in the mail. This is at the same dealer that I purchased my truck from. Today I took truck in. They had it all day. Called me tonight to inform me that the recall hasn’t been done. They have to order the part. It should be in 2 weeks from now.

Your not the only one with that luck.
