Odd no crank issue

1993 f250 4wd 5spd 351. Runs perfect on the rear tank but if you flip the switch to the front tank it will not even crank. You just get a click and nothing but flip it to the rear tank and it fires right up. Not sure what the issue could be, ive never heard of anything like this happening.

Is the fuel pump working? Bang on the tank with a rubber mallet and have your wife cycle the key.

Sounds like you've got a short in the front tank circuit somewhere, if the starter won't even crank.
