OK, so Whenever I use my rear tank, it returns to the front. Anything that can be serviced or cleaned in the selector valve. Or is it just a replace me type of thing?
I have been filling both, using the front down to 1/4, then switching and letting the rear fill the front back up.
I can do that too, my front tank will fill up with fuel while I'm driving. Trouble is, I have to have my auxillary tank fuel and throw a toggle switch for the pump to do it As far as the OP, I have no idea??

Reason: forgot
Replace the selector valve. When you are switching from the front to the rear tanks the valve is allowing the fuel to be drawn from the correct tank, but the return (in the valve) is only allowing the fuel to return to the front tank. The slector valve is either not functioning properly (duh) or has an internal hole that "allows the fuel to return to the front tank only. Took one apart once but there was no way I was getting it back together, at least not functionaly. If your going to replace the valve you may want to replact the lines from the tanks as well to do the fuel line and vent valve upgrades. My $0.02.
What are the vent valve upgrades? I'm all about upgrading when fixing stuff!
I don't have a link to it either but its taking out the rubber hose that's in the middle of the metal fill tube. The factory design was to put the fuel down the rubber tube and around it would be the vent. The mod elimiates the rubber tube but then you have to make a vent hole in the metal tube and route this line down to the tank for a vent. Mine's a lot better but I should make my vent bigger. Pulling my 5er sometimes I have no choice but to fill up with the semi trucks bigger hose.
Do the diesels not have check valves on the fuel tanks like the gassers from these years? There was a recall I know on gas engines for this problem that called for replacing both check valves. I don't remember ever doing a diesel though.
