Tachometer and speedometer
I have a 2005 F250 with the 5.4L .... About 2 days ago the speedometer started acting up and jumping around and not reading the proper speed… today December 29th the tachometer started acting up ... at idle it reads 0 and when I start to accelerate and drive it starts to move but I don't think it is reading the proper rpm ... any ideas on what could cause this?

Could be a bad cluster. The clusters now days use servo motors to operate the gauges.
Have no idea how to tell you to test it or the servo motors on the flaky gauges. Might find an auto electric business and they can test the cluster.
