Those very nice looking parts. And they will look great as you start your build. Is is it cost effective to do the powder coating? Do you feel it has better adhesion and wear than paint? I have never had any parts coated.
Regards,
Chris

Chris, The cost of powder coating varies from location to location. I have $1100 in everything here. One guy I called wanted $1000 for just the frame. When I weighed out the cost of sending it to have it blasted, then bringing it back for me to paint, I would have had somewhere in the $550 range. There are products out there that claims you can paint over rust, but I'm a little leary of that. I would rather get it to clean metal 1st. There are pros and cons to this vs paint. Paint would be easier to touch up, but I think the finish that the powder provides is more durable. The parts go into an oven a the finish is baked on. I guess it's "to each his own"...some people will say that's way too much, while others will say it's not bad. I felt the time saved vs me wire wheeling/stripping, cleaning, painting was worth the money.
No new posts in a while- hope everything is alright!
Wondering- on the I Beam powder coating job, did you coat first and then have it reamed for new Kingpins, or other way around? That's a project on my list.

Everything is good, it's just been slow. My oldest son is wanting to get into tournament fishing, so we bought a boat. I have the floor pans welded in and I am starting the cowl vent repairs. I will post pictures soon of that. I did this backwards as I had everything powder coated then installed the crown vic front. I ran up on a good deal after the fact, so now I don't even plan on using some of the items that are powder coated. I will probably sell those parts to recoup some of the money. Another thing I have been trying to decide for sure is the drivetrain. I like the thoughts of the Coyote and 6r80, but I am not crazy about the sound. I am leaning towards a 351W with a 4r70w or a 347 with EFI....just not sure yet. Thanks for the interest.
making sure everything fits I installed the cab without the mounts to make sure everything clears I am beyond excited the the factory heater/ac box fits with the coyote. I am going to have a Restomod Air system, but plan on gutting this box and hiding the lines in it as well as the computer
