NP435 Reverse light switch connector.

1974 F100: 360, NP435, 4x4
Having a heck of a time trying to locate a new reverse light switch connector / pigtail.
Some places list it as a neutral safety switch, with the same ford part # C9TB-5520-B.

The online parts stores say that it's been the same connector since the late 60's up until 2010 for manuals.
Turns out.... no, not so much.

Some forum posts say it's the same connector as the brake differential valve warning switch, it's been confirmed it is not.

I tried Standard Motor Products #S743, and a newer variant #WVE1P1246 looks to be the same dimensions as the other. The oval part of the plug wont physically fit the hole and the pins in the plug are too close together.

Anyone got any insight short of a junk yard trip?

Thanks in advance.

You might have to get a new switch to match the S743.

Try a Standard Motor LS200.

It would be worth a try. They both do have the exact same Ford part number on them, perhaps they did just change the plastic connector part?

I scaled them to the same metal body dimensions in the photo, pin spacing nearly measures identical, but maybe- just maybe....

Take your new pigtail to the parts store and see if it mates to a new switch.

My truck, 81 F100, came with a T18 and was missing the pig tail.
I was able to use a weather pack 2 pin plug, I have a kit to make them, to fit the B/U switch.
Later I swapped the T18 for a NP435 and the same weather pack 2 pin plug also fit the B/U switch.
Being it is on top of the trans it is not seen, it is not the right pig tail but it works and has stayed put of 5k miles in the year I have had the truck on the road.
