Next, the hydrovac!

Bendix Hydrovac Booster. Looks pretty crusty. Wife said since it's getting cold outside I can use the kitchen table. That was my second resolution. My first, "2020, good riddance! Will happen shortly.

Good day to work on those trucks fellas. Also found my panoramic setting, that's cool.

Are you going to be rebuilding the hydrovac yourself?

Like numberdummy sometimes says, future models obsolete. I did try to renegotiate after the 30 yr mark. No dice.

And yes on the rebuild. But still reserve the right to search out a refurbished unit. I still have Christmas money left.

Many. I had my unit rebuilt by this firm BSI Brake systems Inc. Portland OR 503-236-2116
$ 241 plus shipping. I t was said at the time, that sometimes, NAPA or a commercial Truck parts place can get new or refurbished ones. I was going to try and rebuild it my self, but could not get it apart to get at the seals etc.

There is one company that has the parts and the original Bendix tooling for obsolete parts and it is PBX. They purchased the entire Bendix tooling plant in San Jose after Ford closed the production facility. Lots of companies are distributors for them but you can go direct for a better price.

The Cardone 51-8026 (Midland C462) is what I used on my stock F6 to replace the unserviceable Midland C477.

In the past decade, the C462 brake boosters have been becoming harder to find.

I've previously listed possibilities here:

The C477 is serviceable, I had two and sent one off to PBX. It did take 5 weeks but it came back like new. Cost was just over 415.00 and that was in 2018.
