I've read past posts about a Pressure Reducing Valve or kit to reduce pressure on a canned Ham steering pump. I m installing 1989 Jaguar IFS and Chevy ( Saginaw ) P/S PUMP. HOW do I know, before driving truck, IF I need a Pressure Reducing Kit. WHY might I need this kit ? Where to buy the kit, and does it come with instructions ? Thank ya'all, and Merry Christmas !!

I used the Jag power steering pump from the Jag doner vehicle. So,, I didn't have any pressure issues.. If the Chevy pump is similar to the Jag pump,, I don't think you will need to anything but hook it up and go.
Hopefully, someone will come along wit a better answer.
Run the pump you have, if the steering is too sensitive then you need to reduce the flow. I run series 2 pumps which already have reduced flow compared to the old style Saginaw pump, so possibly the jaguar Saginaw pump had a different flow control valve. They are easy to replace. Try this if the steering is too sensitive.
