dash needs to come out

I need to take out my dash to install a new wiring harness and rewire my '76. Is there a way to take out everything so that all thats left is the firewall? Is this a task or not?

everything will come out, you will be left with the shell for the dash, get a digital camera and take pictures. it is time consuming but well worth it for changing a complete harness

Really not all that difficult. Take off the dash cover. Unmount the cluster and radio. Take out the glove box. Then undo the dash pad nuts. The rest are a few bolts and nuts to unmount the dash itself. It's really the only way to do a harness replacement. Good time to clean out behind there too

You can take the whole dash out by Taking the Steering coloumn out, There is 2 bolts just above where the steering Coloumn bolts on, Take the row of philips head screws out on top of the dash, Take the center brace loose and there is a bolt on each side about 1 1/2 inch up from the bottom of the dash that fastens the bottom of the dash to the side panels.
