I have a 2013 Escape SEL with automatic headlights. Does anyone know of a hack that I can do to make the headlights turn on sooner? My headlights do not turn on until about 30 minutes after everyone else has their headlights on. Does ForScan permit an adjustment to light sensitivity?
Cover the sensor with some ND (neutral density) filter material.
Look on the dash for what looks like a half grape and that should be the sensor.
I had a 2001 Explore Limited that I wanted on during the day light and covering
the sensor is all it took. On that one the sensor was part of the mirror and a little
dark paper was all it needed.
Does ForScan permit an adjustment to light sensitivity?
There isn't any adjustment built into the system.
However, it is suggested to use Forscan (or an advanced scan tool) to scan the BCM for any fault codes related to the light sensor or the operation of the autolamp function.
