Hey Guys,
1967 F250, 2wd, 352, c6, manual brakes & steering..
completed rebuild on engine and trans - runs great now.
replaced master cylinder, now checking the brakes and replacing the 3 rubber lines.
naturally - even with a proper flare wrench - most of the steel line fittings rounded off.
picked up a set of pre-bent lines from INLINE TUBE and am working on swapping them out.
front is complete, moving on to rear.
one would assume the brake drum just slides off but, after digging thru the FSM, it doesn't appear so..
is there any work-around to removing the floating axles, then the hub and drum as a unit?
is there a "trick" to removing those flat screws from the brake drum ( i.e. special tool)??
I'm getting ready to do my rears on my '64 F250. i've been checking out videos on youtube. If the flat screws are on the front drums, I would hit them with some PB blaster or liquid wrench. Then put a screw driver in it and start tapping it. That's how I got mine loose
You can try an impact screwdriver after soaking them in PBBlaster overnight. Impact Screwdriver is just a screwdriver that turns when you hit the end with a hammer. Don't wail on it, just small taps will get it moving.
Just drill them out, you don't need them anyway. They are just there to hold drum on the axle going down the assembly line. Tires and wheel hold them on without the screws.
Double down on the impact screwdriver. You can get it while you are at harbor freight. The impact driver is good, but the bits not so much. The HF bits worked for 2 hits then broke. I bought good ones on Amazon that have lasted a long time https://www.harborfreight.com/6-bit-...QaAgLWEALw_wcB
