I need a new front driveshaft for a 2006 F250, 4wd (obviously), automatic, manual transfer case (if that matters). That seems to be a needle in a hay stack. Am I looking in the wrong place? Is there a preferred aftermarket driveshaft? Thanks.

I’d prefer new as I’ve had some issues with used replacement parts needing replacement too soon.
I would take a used OEM driveshaft over a new aftermarket one any day. There's not much that can go wrong as long as you grease the slider and install new u-joints on it. But hey, whatever works for you.

Well, if that’s the case, what’s wrong with doing that to the one I have?
Find a drive line shop in your area they can fix, repair or build you a new driveshaft whatever you need.
I spoke with Driveshaft Specialist of Texas Friday and they said they could build me one from scratch for about $500. That sound like the right ballpark?
I recalled earlier today that my mechanic said that the one currently on my truck is aftermarket, so I guess I won’t be rebuilding that one.
now I am confused. Is the problem just u-jpints? or has the driveshaft been compromised?
Just the u-joints, but it’s an aftermarket shaft (used truck, don’t know the story), so I ***-u-med that you would not want to rebuild an aftermarket one. Am I wrong?
