1998 F150 PCM is missing

1998 F150 PCM is missing
I just bought a 1998 F150 XL 4.6 5spd single cab short bed for cheap that needs an engine and come to find out, the Pcm is missing, and the harness connector to it looks like it got smashed on one side. My question is, can I pull a pcm from a truck with the same drivetrain and use it, and what model wiring harness can I use to replace the smashed one, can I use one from an automatic or from an Expedition? I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

The Expedition has a different automatic transmission in it E40D I think is the correct number. The F150 has a 4R70 and they both use different flywheels on them and different shift patterns timing. Get your VIN number and do a search online for PCM/ECM rebuilds or ford PCM reprogramming 1998 and call the company that redoes these for your truck.
You give them the VIN number and they will flash one for your truck so everything works. The truck needs a 4.6 NPI engine put back into or you are going to have to change the engine wiring harness as they came with a butterfly valve on the lower intake and the coil packs were different as they were not on top of the plug, but one big box with wires to each plug. 1999 5.4 was the first year of the PI engines and did not have that type of system and had more horsepower. I want to say the 4.6 did not get the PI engine till 2002 but could be wrong. The wiring harness is one of those junkyard deals where you will have to pull one off a truck.
Places like this do what you want to do. I have never used the below so cannot say how good or bad they are. There are a lot of companies that do this and you will just have to see, The going rate for one is around $200.00 plus or minus if you don't have one to repair.
