I hope everyone is managing to stay sane through all this craziness. I have been reading through the latest 67 F250 Camper Special threads and saw their tags were broken down. I was good until I hit the axle info...I was also confused by the year of production compared to what the other 67's had. Any rate, if you are willing to hook a brother up with the information it will be greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays!
I'm curious about about the lack of digits after the district code. Does this mean the dealer in LA ordered the truck bare/stock and made it into a Camper Special? None of the codes showed anything designating it a Camper Special. Sorry if this is a dumb question...
I think that "NumberDummy" said that there wasn't a code designating them as "Camper Specials". But it had to do with them having a heavier duty suspension. I'm sure he can clairify it for us.
There is no code on the plate. The only way to physically confirm a CS is to look for the 12v electrical connection in the bed for a camper. The other way is to pull and pay for a Marti Report on your truck. The different GVW's are the same with other option packages so the 12v connection is the only way to confirm a CS as per ND.
This is what the wiring and plug looks like for the camper special. Without going and looking under my truck, I think it is on driver side rear of the saddle tank on the frame rail.
The way I understand it, the digits after the DSO refer to the order number on special ordered and/or limited production models only. Therefore most trucks won't have these numbers on the data plate.
